What is the term for automatic placement to a board or committee due to office held?
Dear Momtie
I believe you are talking about an "ex-officio" office where the president or another officer is ex-officio member of a board or committee because of the office that he holds. If this is the case, the ex-officio appointment lasts as long the member holds the office that makes him an ex-officio member. For example, if the bylaws state that the president is an ex-officio member of all committees, he is that only as long as he is president.
