can an officer resign to avoid being removed for conduct unbecoming an officer only to be nominated in the next election?
Dear Andrea,
If this person does this, then go forward with some type of discipline so that he cannot be considered in the next election. Also if you have in your bylaws some statement that an officer can serve for only so many years and then has to be out of office for so many years to be considered again, the term limits may preclude this action. The most important thing is to read your bylaws carefully and become educated in parliamentary procedure. I also recommend that you hire a parliamentarian to help you resolve this.
Cheerio,
Little Ben
