How long do we save the ballots of an election?
After an annual meeting for the election of board members of a non-profit organization, the votes have been counted, the chair has announced the winners, does the chair of the tellers committee keep the votes until the next annual meeting? Our documents do not address this situation.

Greetings Ann,
Ballots are saved in case the members think a mistake was made and want to have a recount. There is no need to save them for a whole year! To,to, long. "Robert's Rules" states that only a quarterly time period is needed. Members can make a motion at the election meeting to save them for a shorter time.
Cheerio,
Little Ben
